Organic Farm, Campsite, Guesthouse and Restaurant

Welcome to Casa Campestre, our 30 acre Tropical Organic Farm on the slopes of Volcano Maderas and Cafe Campestre, our Hospedaje and Restaurant in the pueblo of Balgue. We offer a variety of accommodation including campsite, private cabana, dormitory and private rooms.

Both Casa Campestre and Cafe Campestre are perfectly situated for a stay on Ometepe being well located for most of the activities to be found on the island, central to the islands developing tourism and set within a vibrant Nicaraguan village community.

Not only can we offer you a great place to stay and lots of local culture, but we can also help organise most of the activities here on the island including Hiking, Canoeing, Fishing, Motorcycle or Bicycle rental, Horse Riding and Volunteering or many other excursions and activities that are available. See our links on the left hand panel to those sections.

But if hiking volcano's or volunteering on a farm isnt your thing and you just want to relax, then no problems, we have the perfect places to kick back and enjoy the scenery and tranquility, either on our Farm, at our Cafe, or at a number of other great places we can point you to on Ometepe.

Finally, when you're feeling peckish you can make your lunch or dinner from our kitchen gardens and farm produce or, instead, eat at our Cafe in Balgue and enjoy excellent food, freshly prepared from local seasonal ingredients.

Whatever you feel like doing, Casa Campestre and Cafe Campestre are great places from which to enjoy your stay on Ometepe.
